NEWS: University access to top cited journals

For the third year in a row, the IEEE publishes 18 of the top 20 journals in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, according to the 2004 Journal Citation Reports (JCR) recently published by Thomson ISI. The report also reveals that 13 (including the top six) of the top 20 journals in Telecommunications are published by IEEE.

University memebers have full text access to all IEEE (and IEE) publications via the Library subscription to IEEXplore. Click here for further information about access to the full-text.

University members also have access to the 2 non IEEE titles in the t0p 20 journals in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering:
  • Progress in Quantum Electronics, via the Library subscription to ScienceDirect from 1995 (Volume 19, Issue 1) onwards
  • Journal of cryptology, via the Library subscription to SpringerLink from 1988 (Volume 1, issue 1) onwards
AND

University members also have access to the 6 other titles in the top 20 journals in the filed of Telecommunciations.

The JCR ranks journals by their impact factor, defined as the average number of times articles published in a specific journal in the previous two years were cited in a particular year. University members can see the full JCR lists via the Library subscription to Web of Knowledge.
